The European Film Gateway (ECF) is a new 3-years project (started on 1st September 2008) and involving 20 partners from 14 European countries. The aim is to develop an online portal, providing direct access to about 790.000 digital objects including films, photos, posters, drawings, sound material and text documents. EFG is a Best Practice Network funded by the European Commission under the eContentplus programme, as part of the i2010 policy. The project is initiated by ACE (Association des Cinémathèques Européennes) and the EDL Foundation. The content will be provided mostly by film archives and cinémathèques, which are partners in the project.

GIVING, International Journal on Philanthropy and Social Innovation invites submissions for publication in its upcoming thematic issue on Community Philanthropy (May 2009).
The Journal, published - twice a year - in English and Italian, is an interdisciplinary forum, focused on the production of research on philanthropy as an engine of social innovation, addressing, among others, topics related to social equity and social investments.
The aim of the issue is to analyze the different contexts of Community Philanthropy focusing on:
1. The role of philanthropy in strengthening community empowerment
2. Leadership and community philanthropy
3. Comparative issues among different areas of the world
4. The changing role of donors. From grant making to high engagement philanthropy
5. The development of community development corporations: historical roots and strategic role in the future.
Contributions that address emergent issues and innovations such as environmental grantmaking, poverty alleviation, paradigms

The fact is that there’s a lack of tendency to archive and document cultural and artistic projects on our scene. And, although it seems that on the Internet everything could be reached, the truth is pretty opposite. Projects which have their websites or blogs often do not offer details inside of the project. At the same time, Internet offers so many information that the proverb "unable to see the woods for the trees" here fits perfectly. For this reason, here we are trying to offer trees but also descriptive structure. Projects which I suggest I find interesting because of the information they offer but also because of the topics which are in the center of their attention.
